Deputy General Manager (Operations & Fundraising)
ACAT is seeking a strategic, operations-focused leader to support the growth and impact of our work. As our Deputy GM (aka 2IC), you’ll work closely with the General Manager to lead core functions like operations, fundraising, and communications – helping us grow our reach, improve internal systems, and strengthen public access to outdoor climbing.
This is a part-time (20–32 hours/week), fixed-term role for 1–2 years with potential to extend or become permanent. The hours are negotiable, start date as soon as possible. You’ll be ACAT’s second-in-command, helping build out the systems and networks that enable our growing national mission.
You’ll report to the General Manager, collaborate with a passionate Board and volunteer base, and have the opportunity to shape this role into a powerful force for sustainable climbing access.

Interim General Manager (6-Month Fixed Term)
Are you a values-driven leader with a love for the outdoors? ACAT is seeking a skilled and strategic Interim General Manager to guide our small, nimble organisation through a six-month parental leave period. This is a rare opportunity to support climbing access across Aotearoa and help shape the future of our work.
This role is flexible up to 32 hours/week — we welcome expressions of interest from candidates seeking part-time or portfolio work.
You’ll oversee daily operations, drive strategic initiatives, and lead ACAT’s work on critical access issues. You’ll also be the public face of the organisation, maintaining strong relationships with landowners, partners, the climbing community, and our passionate Board.
